HP extends deadline for Mercury acquisition 
( InfoWorld ) - Hewlett-Packard has extended the deadline for Mercury Interactive shareholders to tender their shares in favor of the companies' proposed $4.5 billion merger . As of midnight Eastern time Thursday in the U.S., when the offer had been set to expire, 67.8 million shares had been tendered in favor of the deal, HP said. The deadline is now extended to midnight on Sept. 28.
